*The Beck Research Group currently has an opening for a student pursuing Ph.D. in Civil Engineering*
Qualifications: Ideal applicants should possess expertise in structural reliability/engineering,
probabilistic methods, and natural hazards engineering, excellent written and oral communication
skills, proficiency in one programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R), proficiency in GIS or
other geospatial software, preferably field work experience for data collection (survey and damage
assessment), and an interest for interdisciplinary work and collaboration. B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related fields. Students with M.S. strongly preferred, but students for direct admission to Ph.D. will be considered.
